Edit or Delete Products
Update product details, manage marketplaces, and handle product lifecycle changes.
Accessing Product Edit
- Navigate to
/productsfrom the main sidebar - Find the product you want to edit in the products table
- Click the "Edit" button (pencil icon) in the Actions column
- You'll be taken to the product edit page
What Can Be Edited
✅ Editable Fields
- Product Name: Update the display name
- Product Description: Modify the description (still required, 1500 character limit)
- Cover Image: Upload a new image or remove existing one
- Category: Change or add category
- Tags: Add, remove, or modify tags
- Marketplaces: Add new marketplaces, edit existing ones, or remove marketplaces
- Product Status: Set product as Active or Inactive
⚠️ Cannot Be Changed
- Product Type: Cannot be changed after creation. If you need a different type, create a new product.
Why? Product type affects how products are used in funnels. Changing it could break existing funnels that use this product.
Editing Product Information
Basic Information
Update product name, description, category, and tags directly in the form fields.
- All changes are saved when you click "Update Product"
- Product description is still required (1500 character limit)
- Cover image can be replaced by uploading a new file
Managing Marketplaces
You can add, edit, or remove marketplace entries:
- Add Marketplace: Click "Add Marketplace" button and fill in the details
- Edit Marketplace: Modify the marketplace type, country, identifier, or URL directly in the form
- Remove Marketplace: Click the remove/delete button (trash icon) next to the marketplace entry
The marketplace dropdown is grouped for clarity: Platform Marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, Good Reads, Flipkart, Myntra) and Seller Owned Marketplace (Shopify, Ajio, Teachable, Wakabi, Custom Website).
For Custom Website, provide both the website URL and a website display name. This display name is shown to customers during funnel flow.
Tip: Marketplace URLs for Amazon and eBay are automatically regenerated when you update the identifier or country.
Product Status
Control whether a product is active or inactive:
- Active: Product is available for use in new funnels
- Inactive: Product is hidden from funnel selection but existing funnels using it remain functional
Note: Setting a product to inactive does not affect funnels that already use it. It only prevents the product from being selected in new funnels.
Saving Changes
- Make your desired changes to the product
- Review all fields to ensure accuracy
- Click "Update Product" button
- You'll see a success message and be redirected to the Products list
- Changes are immediately reflected in all funnels using this product
Important: Changes to product description will affect how AI generates reviews in funnels. Changes to marketplaces will update where customers are directed to leave reviews.
Deleting Products
⚠️ Warning: Permanent Deletion
Deleting a product is permanent and cannot be undone.
Before deleting, consider:
- Is this product used in any active funnels?
- Do you have backups of the product information?
- Would setting it to "Inactive" be a better option?
Impact: If a product is used in funnels, deleting it may cause issues. Consider archiving or deactivating funnels first, or setting the product to inactive instead.
How to Delete
- Navigate to the Products list page
- Find the product you want to delete
- Click the "Delete" button (trash icon) in the Actions column
- Confirm the deletion in the pop-up dialog
- The product will be permanently removed
Alternative: Set to Inactive
Instead of deleting, you can set a product to Inactive:
- Product remains in your list but is hidden from funnel selection
- Existing funnels using the product continue to work
- You can reactivate it later if needed
- No data is lost
This is the recommended approach if you're unsure about permanent deletion.
Best Practices
Keep Product Descriptions Updated
Regularly review and update product descriptions to ensure they accurately reflect your product. This improves AI-generated review quality.
Verify Marketplace Links
Periodically check that marketplace links are still valid and point to the correct product pages.
Use Inactive Status Instead of Delete
When you no longer need a product, set it to inactive rather than deleting it. This preserves data and allows for future reactivation.
